Salary: This is an hourly position at a minimum of $35.00 per hour not to exceed 20 hours per week.

Primary Purpose of the Position:
Completing the Reading Specialist certification curriculum; Develop Scope and Sequence of Reading Specialist Certification Program; Work collaboratively with Online Course Program Manager to create modules in e-campus; Writing and maintaining the Science of Teaching Reading (STR) curriculum.

Minimum Certification/Education:
  • Masters Degree required
  • Current Texas elementary teaching certificate
  • Training in developing and writing reading curriculum
Minimum Experience:
  • Recent teaching experience, five (5) years minimum
  • Early Literacy training
  • Experience in curriculum writing
  • Experience in self-directed work
Special Knowledge & Skills:
  • Current knowledge of curriculum, instruction and assessment practices
  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to give clear and specific feedback
  • Knowledge of current technology, curriculum instruction, and assessment practices
Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public.
  2. Provide test preparation for state required certification exams for cohort participants; provide as needed.
  3. Research and develop educational programs, materials, curriculum and services related to student assignments.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned.
