Salary: This is a full time, 12-month position at 232 days per year with a minimum annual salary of $76,353.00.

Primary Purpose:The Administrative Specialist for the School Improvement Team facilitates targeted efforts around school improvement and the Effective Schools Framework with external partners and internal staff. This position designs, develops, and delivers training and/or provides educational tools and resources pertaining to school improvement and the Effective Schools Framework.

  • Minimum three (3) years in campus administration or district office administration
  • Experience in coaching campus/district administrators
  • Leadership in school improvement efforts and/or The Effective Schools Framework
  • Leadership qualities/competencies in facilitation of campus and district leaders to address underperforming areas
  • Experience in developing content and delivering presentations based on adult learning strategies

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Campus/district leader of a turnaround campus/district including implementing and monitoring a Targeted Improvement Plan
  • Experience training or implementing the Effective Schools Framework
  • Proficient use of technology for workplace productivity and presentations
  • Experience in working collaboratively with staff, clients, and external partners; shared decision making
  • Proficiency in assessing root causes of strengths and weaknesses of a campus and district
  • Ability to analyze state, regional, district and campus data
  • Ability to one-on-one coach campus and district administrators towards improvement efforts
  • Ability to operate within a complex initiative, work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, manage projects, and engage in self-directed work
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
  • Work collaboratively with ESC staff to design, develop, implement, communicate, and coordinate customized school improvement and systemic support to improve student performance, including the development of targeted improvement plans
  • Provide professional development, personalized coaching, and technical assistance to campus and district leaders around continuous improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate diagnostic visits to campuses involved in the school improvement process
  • Design, develop, enhance, and deliver trainings through multiple delivery models for internal and external stakeholders
  • Attend meetings regarding school improvement/The Effective Schools Framework and develop required reports; and attend Statewide ESC meetings and State level meetings with TEA
  • Collect and analyze LEA data from a variety of qualitative and quantitative sources to assist in designing strategic school improvement plans and/or facilitate data analysis protocol at the LEA
  • Collaborate with ESC Region 13 staff members across divisions to align services to The Effective Schools Framework
  • Perform other duties as assigned
