Salary: This is a full time 12 -month 232 day position with a minimum annual salary of $53,000.


Primary Purpose: Provide editorial, research, project management, and technical expertise to facilitate product development and the efficient operation of Strategic Initiatives: Special Projects.


Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university

Experience:
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in a field relating to the program, such as mathematics, reading, advanced academics, and college and career readiness initiatives
  • Experience in editorial services and publishing in print and digital forms
  • Project management experience

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Strong organizational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Skill operating within a complex project, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadline
  • Experience with project management, including development and implementation of work flows and timelines
  • Knowledge of editorial/publication process cycles including writing, editing, formatting, QA, etc. in both print and digital formats
  • Knowledge of licensing, copyright, and ADA/504 accessibility standards
  • Proficiency with video production processes, including scripting, editing, recruitment, scheduling, scouting, and transcriptions
  • Proficiency with web development practices, including editorial content review, QA content, site functionality
  • Ability to articulate editorial best practices to internal and external clients in a clear and concise manner
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign
  • Skill providing customer support, conference arrangements, and meeting facilitation
  • Ability to research in order to anticipate future needs of department

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
  • Provide project management, including development and implementation of work flows and timelines for successful product development
  • Implement editorial/publication process cycles including writing, editing, formatting, QA, etc. in both print and digital formats
  • Oversee video production processes, including scripting, editing, recruitment, scheduling, scouting, day of filming, and transcriptions
  • Oversee editorial content for website development, review, QA content, site functionality
  • Train and provide guidance to program staff and external partners (including TEA) on licensing, copyright, ADA/504 accessibility standards, and editorial best practices
  • Create and maintain technical process documents for department workflows (ADA compliance, copy editing, TEA Style Guide, etc.)
  • Oversee collaboration with contractors, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, review of work, etc.
  • Support face-to-face, virtual, and hybrid professional development through planning and event management
  • Coordinate communication and technical assistance with ESC personnel and project staff and participants, including creating correspondence templates as needed
  • Provide research and inquiry on industry trends and the appropriate direction for projects as they evolve
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Provide general direction to other individuals. May train new hires.
