TSDS System Analyst

Reports To: Coordinator, TSDS/PEIMS

Salary: This is full-time twelve month position at 232 days within the fiscal year. The annual salary range is $62,780.00- $70,628.00.

Primary Purpose:
  • Provide technical assistance to ESC Region 13 clients to ensure the timely collection and accurate reporting of the Texas Student Data System (TSDS) to include PEIMS, Unique ID, TIMS, TEAL and Core Collections
  • Provide training for data collection and reporting requirements according to the Texas Education Data Standards (TEDS)

  • Bachelor's degree or five (5) years successful experience in technology related fields in an education setting
  • Academic or district-based experience in data collection and analysis
  • Five years of experience in a school environment
  • Experience with school administrative software
  • Knowledge of the Texas Data Standards (TEDS), Student Attendance Accounting Handbook and the Financial Accountability System Resource Guide
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws as it pertains to school administration and state reporting
  • Experience with adult learners and the ability to effectively train large groups

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Proficient with PCs, Macs to include desktop management, file management and operating systems
  • Knowledge of current technology
  • Knowledge of TSDS, including PEIMS, Unique ID, TIMS, TEAL and Core Collections
  • Knowledge of trends, processes and procedures in school administration
  • Strong organizational, presentation and communication skills
  • Results oriented with strict attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and respond accordingly to unanticipated crises
  • Ability to learn new technologies in a fast pace environment
  • High level of self-motivation with a strong desire to solve problems and multi-task with a prioritization strategy

  • Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and the public
  • Manage and coordinate school district and charter school TSDS PEIMS data collections and submissions through TSDS
  • Assist with TEAL and Unique ID applications and user administration
  • Assist school district and charter school TSDS Core Collection processes and submission through TSDS
  • Assist with the development of training materials related to TSDS PEIMS data collection/submission and Core Collection submissions
  • Assist with the ESC Region 13 TSDS web site and workshop offerings
  • Attend appropriate training to include the TEA TSDS PEIMS Coordinator training
  • Facilitate district, charter school, and ESC Region 13 access to local, regional, and statewide PEIMS
  • Provide technical assistance to school districts and charter schools for the correction of TSDS data errors
  • Ensure that ESC Region 13 school districts and charter schools meet the TSDS PEIMS and Core Collection timelines and the state student Unique ID rate
  • Research applicable state laws and rules relating to TSDS reporting
  • Develop strong working relationships with school districts/charter schools and TEA
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Software: ODBC compliant software, file transfer software and XML
