STAAR Redesign: Tools for Success is a series of online, self-paced Canvas courses that will support you in learning about the new item types and much more!
Available Online Courses
By the end of the course, you will:
- Understand the six new STAAR item types
- Recognize how the TEKS can lend themselves to each item type
- Consider instructional strategies to support the item types
- Learn about ways to ensure accessibility for all within each item type
- Create item type questions in DMAC or Eduphoria
Modules
Each online module within the course will focus on a new item type. Modules will be released gradually. Once a module is available, you can reference it at any time.
There are six modules, and each module is a prerequisite for the upcoming module. Modules will be released each month. Each course should take approximately six hours to complete, with each module taking one hour. It is a self-paced online course, which means that you can complete the learning activities at your own pace and time. Once you successfully complete this course, you will earn 6 CPE credit hours from ESC Region 13.
At the end of each module is an optional discussion to submit questions, comments, and/or concerns. You will also be provided with specific contact information to address your STAAR Redesign needs. ESC Region 13 is here for you!
