Join us for an in-depth look at the newly adopted ELAR TEKS to create a systemic approach to teaching writing skills across all grade levels. How do we ensure all students receive cohesive and organized instruction in writing skills in order to generate skilled and confident writers at graduation?
Participants will engage in interactive learning with school and district leaders to unpack the ELAR TEKS to identify the scaffolding of writing skills at each grade. Ideally, a district will send a team of curriculum leaders to collaborate on a district writing curriculum, and a discount will be offered for those teams. By the end of the workshop, you will leave with a foundational writing skills scope and sequence and a writing articulation guide template to continue building your K-12 writing curriculum.
The writing curriculum development workshop will be facilitated by Mary Black, a literacy specialist who taught ELA in classrooms with diverse student populations and guided district-wide implementation of an aligned writing curriculum.
