Supporting students with disabilities across our region in defining their vision for adult life and learning the skills needed to meet their post-secondary goals is a critical focus of our work. We bring qualified specialists to your districts and campuses to provide support in understanding key elements, statutory requirements, and best practices for effective transition planning.
Whether through informal consultation or through dedicated on-site training on topics unique to a team, we provide a continuum of support for Transition & Employment Services Designees (TEDs), administrators, special education teachers, general education teachers, and para-educators, and families, from early childhood/first eligibility through high school graduation/18+ services.
Program/Procedural support might include:
- Helping develop a campus-wide or district-wide plan for effective secondary transition, from early childhood to required elements beginning by age 14
- Reviewing LEA procedures for transition or graduation
- Folder and/or system reviews for in preparation/response to accountability measures related to transition planning
