Support for District occupational and physical therapists

Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, students with disabilities are eligible for special education and related services. Related services in special education means developmental, corrective, and other supportive services that are required to assist a child with a disability. Occupational and physical therapy are among those considered as related services in special education.

Students with disabilities often receive school-based occupational and/or physical therapy services, as well as home or clinic-based therapy services. Differences between the educational model and the medical model can be confusing.

We provide your district occupational and physical therapists with professional development, program support, resources, and a leadership network for communication and collaboration designed to ensure best practices.
