Helping your students who are deaf and hard of hearing

Students who are deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) throughout Texas have special academic needs that differ from their peers. Studies show that approximately three out of every 1,000 children in the United States are born with a level of hearing loss in one or both of their ears. This can impact their language development, literacy, and access to the general curriculum in schools.

Our deaf and hard of hearing specialists provide your school with professional development, program support, network meetings, resources, communication assessments, and more- all designed to support your instructional staff, related services staff, and the students who are deaf and hard of hearing themselves.
