    Product Update: We are excited to announce an important update to our TT-TESS Appraiser Training Guide, T-TESS Rubric, and T-TESS Rubric Flipchart. The updated version now includes the new Alt Domain I Rubric, further enhancing your training and implementation experience. The Appraiser Training Guide and the T-TESS Rubric are required resources for all participants enrolled in the three-day T-TESS Appraiser Training, and are necessary to implement the T-TESS process as an ongoing system of feedback and support for continuous teacher growth. The T-TESS Rubric Flipchart is optional - it is an added bonus, but not required. The T-TESS Appraiser Training Guide and the T-TESS Rubric were crafted to enhance the T-TESS experience, and will be used during the training to help guide the application and understanding of the T-TESS domains, dimensions, descriptors, and performance levels. The T-TESS Rubric Flipchart was created as a quick easy tool to reference during goal-setting, pre-conference, and/or post-conference meetings with teachers to connect T-TESS domains and dimensions. Appraisers can take this tool with them to classroom observations, and teachers can use the flipchart as a handy reference, too. The T-TESS Rubric Flipchart was modified and is maintained by the Region 13 Educator Evaluation and Leadership Team.

Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) is the Commissioner-recommended teacher evaluation system for Texas. It’s a system designed by educators to support teachers in their professional growth and includes a goal-setting and professional development plan, an evaluation cycle, and a student growth measure.

The T-TESS Rubric is made up of 4 Domains and 16 Dimensions. Teachers at every level have areas of strength and areas that need to grow, and through T-TESS, every teacher is supported and encouraged to grow professionally.

We provide T-TESS trainings, consultations, and support throughout the year to fulfill the state-mandated requirement for anyone who appraises teachers using the T-TESS instrument. We also offer half-day teacher orientations to familiarize new teachers with T-TESS.
