ECSE Work Stations: Fostering Independence in Young Children
- Austin (Main Campus)
- 6 CPE Credits
- $55
Are you tired of feeling like a broken record, repeating directions and struggling to keep young learners engaged independently?
This hands-on training is designed for educators who want to empower young children—especially those with special needs—to work more independently and confidently.
Explore evidence-based strategies such as visual supports, structured work systems, repeated practice, and graduated prompting. These techniques answer critical student questions like: What work needs to be done? How much? When is it finished? What happens next? By implementing these systems, educators can increase focus, predictability, and autonomy in early learning environments.
The workshop includes a “make and take” session where participants will receive instructional books and educational materials to begin creating individualized work tasks and systems right away.
Ideal for: Early childhood educators, special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and therapists looking to support independence and engagement in young learners.
