This workshop introduces you to Volume 0: Getting Ready for Reading by Design, a specialized resource of 20 lessons tailored to support students who need additional help with foundational literacy skills.

What You’ll Learn:

• Phonological Awareness: Explore activities and techniques to help students recognize and manipulate sounds in spoken language.
• Alphabet Mastery: Understand methods to teach and reinforce knowledge of upper and lower case letters.
• Fine Motor Skills: Discover strategies to improve students' fine motor skills, which are crucial for writing and other literacy tasks.
• Oral Language Development: Learn techniques to enhance students' oral language skills, foundational for reading and writing.
• Components of Language: Gain insights into teaching the basic language components, such as vocabulary and sentence structure, to support literacy development.

Participants do not need prior Reading by Design program training to benefit from this course. It’s an excellent opportunity to prepare yourself with effective strategies and materials to support students who need extra help with foundational skills before progressing to the full Reading by Design program.
