The purpose of the Highlights of Coordinated Set of Activities training is to take a closer look at some highlights from a course created by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) titled Coordinated Set of Activities. This training will provide educators with information to develop the necessary transition services to facilitate the student's movement from school to adult life.
Topics include:
- The legal framework for the coordinated set of activities (IDEA, State Performance Plan Indicator 13 (SPPI-13));
- Exploration of the areas to consider as part of the coordinated set of activities: Instruction, Related Services, Community Experiences, Employment and other Post-School Adult Living Objectives, Daily Living Skills, and Functional Vocational Evaluation (FVE);
- An action plan to support the documentation of an activity in a coordinated set of activities area; and,
- An opportunity to apply your learning with a student scenario
Participants in the Highlights of Coordinated Set of Activities training will be eligible for a free follow-up opportunity with the ESC Region 13 Transition Specialist for any of the topics covered in this training. Please contact Chris Nelson for more information about this follow-up opportunity.
