The primary goal of the Integrated STEM Education Cohort is to help you build an internal STEM steering committee who understands the TEA Texas STEM Education Framework and knows how to leverage the TEA STEM Toolkit to help meet your local needs and instructional initiatives.
Did you know that “STEM” education is not just about science, technology, engineering and mathematics? In Texas, STEM education is defined as a method of hands-on teaching and learning where students learn to apply academic content by creatively solving real-world problems with innovative design-based thinking to prepare students for future career opportunities (Texas Education Agency STEM Education Framework). It applies to all content areas and all grade levels and is an effective way to promote research-based instructional methods across your campus or district.
