Salary: This is a full-time 12 month position at 232 days with an annual starting salary of $76,353.

Primary Purpose: Work with minimal supervision to support strategic initiatives and special projects related to comprehensive guidance counseling services with a focus on responsive services. This position will provide program development to districts in developing, implementing, measuring program effectiveness, and making program adjustments to comprehensive guidance services. Additionally, this position will provide support, technical assistance, compliance assistance, training, and possible program implementation for student supports under ESSA to achieve the following:
  • Well rounded educational opportunities,
  • Safe and healthy students, and
  • Effective uses of technology

Education/Certification:
  • Master's Degree
  • Texas Counselor Certification
  • Licensed Professional Counselor

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Master Social Worker, or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred
  • Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor or within one calendar year of eligibility for LPC-Supervisor licensure strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of state/national models for effective comprehensive counseling programs
  • Knowledge of current trends in Comprehensive Counseling Programs
  • Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to disseminate information in a clear and concise manner to internal and external clients
  • Attention to detail and timeliness of task completion with high quality control and time management
  • Ability to integrate technology into opportunities such as online courses, webinars, and web portals

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
  • Support and implement the visionary plan for ESC 13 to accomplish 1, 3, and 5 year goals to impact student post-secondary goals in college and career
  • Support counseling services to ESC 13 counselors and students
  • Design, develop, and deliver professional development and technical assistance for comprehensive guidance programming services
  • Seek opportunities to generate revenue to support comprehensive school counseling services, LPC programming and supervision, and other relevant education through professional development, conferences, and grant opportunities
  • Attend and present at meetings and conferences that support school counseling, mental health, and school safety
  • Maintain accurate and timely contracts with clients
  • Serve on various committees to promote school counseling, mental health, and school safety initiatives
  • Support ESC 13 staff in projects requiring knowledge of comprehensive school counseling services, mental health programming, and school safety needs and mandates
