Keynote Address
Language in Action: Empowered and Engaged "In our interconnected world, fostering advanced linguistic and cultural proficiency is essential to developing empowered, engaged citizens. This presentation explores strategies that encourage students to take ownership of their language learning journey and find purpose in communication. By emphasizing independence and meaningful participation, educators can cultivate a vibrant classroom environment that promotes expression and exchange and prepares students to thrive in a global society. Together we will consider practical approaches that inspire learners to embrace their linguistic potential and contribute to a diverse, multilingual, safe and successful society."
Session
Level Up Their Language With The Power of Play "In this session we will explore game-based strategies that extend beyond traditional recall drills to drive student proficiency as students access their linguistic systems and have fun in the classroom. We will delve into a variety of interactive games that promote authentic language use, encourage creativity, and foster collaboration among learners. Get a refill on your coffee because it is “Game On” when you enter this session. By participating in these low-to-no-prep language-play games, attendees will leave equipped with a toolkit of adaptable games that can be seamlessly implemented in their classrooms at various levels. Join us to ignite your passion for games and to inspire your students to achieve new heights in language proficiency—all while having fun!"
