This Lunch & Learn will offer tools and skills for creating trauma-informed classrooms and schools for school-aged children. The workshop will empower educators and administrators to recognize and respond to the impact of trauma on their students and provide practical strategies for creating safe, healing, and supportive learning environments. Participants will walk away with some new approaches on how to incorporate trauma-informed approaches and emotional well-being into their classroom and school setting.
Learning Objectives:
- Offer a refresher on understanding of trauma and its effects on students' academic performance and social-emotional well-being.
- Identify and apply trauma-informed strategies for creating safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom and school environments.
- Reflect on personal biases and beliefs, and gain insight into how they may impact interactions with students who have experienced trauma.
- Learn how to effectively communicate with and support students who have experienced trauma, and help them build resilience and coping skills.
- Explore ways to collaborate with colleagues and engage with families and communities to create a trauma-informed school culture that promotes student success.
