Sheltered Instruction
Regardless of your program model, Sheltered Instruction is a necessary element to any strong program developed for English learners. With helpful strategies and student scenarios, we can cover any and all of the components of Sheltered Instruction to fit your campus needs. Our Sheltered Instruction training provides an overview of second language acquisition theory, interaction strategies, proven vocabulary activities and processes, methods to identify and utilize prior knowledge as a resource for learning, and methods to differentiate both instruction and assessments to ensure English learners are able to learn content while acquiring English skills. Participants get the opportunity to explore methods and strategies while applying them to real world learning situations and students.
