Join us for an inspiring day of professional learning at the Region 13 Math Summit! This year’s event features two dynamic keynotes that will challenge, motivate, and equip educators to transform the way students experience mathematics.

We’ll start the day with a keynote from Pam Harris: “Avoiding the Trap of Algorithms.” In this inspiring session, Pam will show how relying too much on procedures can limit student thinking—and what to do instead. Learn how to foster flexible, deep reasoning and support students in becoming confident problem solvers in classrooms where Math is Figure-out-able!

In the afternoon, Vanessa Vakharia, author of Math Therapy, takes the stage with her keynote, “How to Break the Math Trauma Cycle.” Learn how unresolved math trauma fuels anxiety and disengagement—and walk away with practical tools to create safe, healing math spaces for both students and teachers.

Throughout the day, participants will have the opportunity to attend a wide range of engaging breakout sessions led by our keynote speakers and other expert educators. Sessions will dive into high-impact topics such as math intervention, student engagement, trauma-informed practices, supporting unique learners, and strategies from Building Thinking Classrooms. In addition, we’re excited to offer sessions tailored to specialized areas of education—including STEM, Gifted and Talented, Special Education, Multilingual Learners, Early Childhood, HQIM/OER, and Instructional Coaching. No matter your role or focus, there’s something for everyone at this year’s Math Summit!

Don't miss this energizing day of connection, collaboration, and growth.

Let’s rethink what math can be—for every learner.
