Are you a new Secondary RLA teacher or an experienced teacher looking for effective classroom strategies to successfully engage your students in reading and writing? If so, this workshop is for you.
This Make-and-Take workshop will provide new RLA teachers with hands-on activities that directly align with the secondary RLA TEKS that will support all learners and help you become a rockstar teacher in the classroom. This course will address the following:
Setting up Reader/Writer Notebooks
Establishing an Independent Reading Routine
Strategies for Reader Engagement and Response
Establishing an Independent Writing Routine
Instructional Pacing
Data Tracking
Building Classroom Community
This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with peers across our region and build your Literacy Community. All participants will receive resources and materials to use immediately in the classroom to support teaching and learning.
