Join us for the fifth session of the Blueprints for Success: LID Learning Series, an interactive, hands-on workshop designed to extend learning from the Texas SPED Support Rubric of Effective Practices for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities online module series. This session bridges online pre-work with real-world classroom application, ensuring participants walk away with strategies that make an immediate impact.
What to Expect
In this session, we’ll focus on effective strategies for implementing communication systems that empower students with complex access needs to express themselves, make choices, and engage more fully in their learning. Participants will explore:
-
Practical tools to integrate communication supports into everyday instruction.
-
Approaches for fostering student voice and independence.
-
Ways to collaborate with teams and families to reinforce communication systems.
How It Works
To maximize your learning, you’ll complete short online modules before each session. You can:
- Complete the pre-work module on your own time before the session
- Join an optional 1-hour dedicated work time before the session to complete the pre-work module with support.
