Join Region 13 ESC and the Local Mental Health Authorities throughout the region for the virtual blended course of Youth Mental Health First Aid (from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing) to learn the basic knowledge and skills of identifying and supporting students through a mental health crisis. You will also learn about substance use prevention strategies and warning signs of a student struggling suicidal thoughts. This is a proactive course that is incredibly helpful for anyone who works with students of all ages! This course also meets the HB3 requirement for school districts.
Important Instructions:
- Registration for all Mental Health First Aid courses closes THREE WEEKS before the class training date, and the deadline to complete the pre-work is ONE WEEK before the course. This allows participants time to complete the required pre-work.
- Once you register for YMHFA in e-campus, your registration is not done yet!
- Make sure you keep an eye out for an EMAIL from one of our Local Mental Health Authority (LMHA) trainers in the weeks before the course, followed by an INVITATION from Connect (the YMHFA platform) to register.
- Please accept the invitation and log in to Connect.
- “Connect” is where you will complete the pre-work needed to attend the course online.
- NOTE: Registration will be capped at 60 - each course will have 2 sections, as each course can have no more than 30 participants, per the National Council.
- NOTE: PLEASE do NOT register for more than one date. This adds additional issues when we are confirming our roster, since the roster is capped at 60.
