The Behavior Coach Endorsement Program is a year-long program running from September through July. Our program is an intensive 240 hours of training for your administrators, counselors, teachers, and paraprofessionals who wish to become a behavior specialist. Classes take place on the 1st and 3rd Monday from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm in the evening and on the 3rd Saturday from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. If a class falls on a holiday or holiday weekend, adjustments will be made to the schedule. This schedule runs from September-May. You will have 5 days of training over the summer and a book study to complete.
The program focuses on a multi-tiered system of behavioral interventions and supports, as we spend the 240 hours training you in the following topics:
- Whole school behavioral interventions and preventions.
- Intensive interventions for students with significant challenges.
- Best Practice models of behavior and discipline.
- Multi-Tiered Systems of Support include Social Emotional Learning, Restorative Practices, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, Trauma, and Mental Health.
- Leadership Skills
Our Special Education Department values continued learning and is currently offering a $1500 stipend toward participant’s tuition in the program while funds last. Funds are applied when acceptance has been given to the program.
